Kismet’s Annual July 4th (3rd) Parade

A merry mix of military and madcap creativity

The 51st annual parade was graced once again by the stirring presence

of U S Marines, who, added to the marching bands from Bayshore and Saltaire and our own KFD Color Guard, created a stirring sight indeed. Especially when Sam announced the names of Kismet veterans. Gracie Woods sang the National Anthem in a robust and confident voice. Brava!

Note from Sam Wood:

We had 17 floats in the parade which is about average.  Best in parade "Animal House" by the Lambies.  Most patriotic "Patriotic Princess"  Elizabeth Bertucci, Charlie Krane, Madison O'Connor.  Most creative was "Army Corps of Engineers"  Henry Gates house.  Most topical "Pick your Poison" Election 2016. - Drum family.  Historical "Space Odyssey Tribute to David Bowie" - Sitone family.

The parade was graced by the presence of 5 marines:

Gunnery Sgt. Mike Hengerie,  Gunnery Sgt. Christian Valencia, Staff Sgt. Shawn Hunkins, Sgt. Corey Robinson, Lance Corporal Nick Guinta. Kismet resident Lance Corporal Grady O'halleran is deployed in the middle east but was with us in spirit.
